Chicago Golf Club and NGLA are still recognized as two of the top courses in the world, and not just due to feelings of nostalgia. Like Fishers Island, Yale is also home to a two-shot reverse-redan in the short par 4 11th. When Macdonald became tired of designing courses, he essentially handed the entire business off to Raynor. Golf in America wouldn’t look anything like what it does today without the Chicago native. Lido This par 3 is designed to test a player’s mid-iron game, typically measuring between 160-180 yards.
